1 Month Old!

Guess who's 1 month old!

It's hard to believe that a month has already come and gone!  On the one hand, it seems like just yesterday that we were anticipating our little one's arrival, and then holding her for the first time.  On the other hand, we already can't imagine life without Emily.  Each and every time I look at her sweet face, I feel an overwhelming sense of pride and joy.  To think that we created someone so beautiful is just amazing.

All About Emily at 1 Month:

• Frequently gets hiccups {which she also got in utero!}
• Has super soft skin.
• Forms her lips into a tight circle that looks like a Cheerio -- this is my favorite face she makes!
• Smiles and laughs when she sleeps and farts.... also smiles when you tickle her mouth with her burp rag!  She's smiling while awake more and more as she grows.
• Is very curious -- loves to look around and especially out the window!  She also loves staring at the wood panels in our bedroom that forms rectangular shapes.
• Growing so quickly!  My guess is that she already weighs over 9.5 pounds!
• Doesn't like to sleep laying flat.  Within 5 minutes of laying her flat in her crib or her pack-n-play, she wakes up!  She'll sleep longer in her swing or her Rock-and-Play.... and longest in my arms!
• Hates being swaddled!
• Likes crossing arms across chest when fussy; likes putting arms up next to head when sleeping.
• Has 2 chins and lots of rolls in her neck and thighs!  Love that chubbbb!!!
• Grunts and turns red when pooping.
• Can lift her head really high up and hold it during tummy time if she's alert and not fussy.
• Can roll over onto her back from her tummy!
• Keeps her hands in fists most of the time.
• Loves scratching her face and neck with her razor sharp finger nails.  I like to call her Emily Scissorhands.  Despite clipping and filing her nails as often as I can grab them while she's calm, they grow like crazy!  That's why we try to keep hand mitts on her when possible.  :)
• Likes to head butt Mommy & Daddy when we're holding her over our shoulder.
• Eats on average every 90-120 minutes.
• Sleeps ~12 hours a day on average.... this number should be higher so we're working on taking more naps during the day!
• Hair is turning blonde.
