Happy Father's Day!!!

Today was a special day in our family, as it was Shep's first Father's Day as a daddy!  To mark the occasion, Emily got her daddy an extra special card:

And perhaps a gift or two as well.  Though no store-bought gift could ever possibly compare to the beauty we get to call our daughter!  She agrees.  ;)

Emily met her grandpa {Shep's dad} for the first time today!  We all went for a nice long walk this afternoon and out for a nice dinner too.  All of the casual outdoor restaurants we had in mind along the riverfront were packed so we ended up having to go to more of an upscale restaurant.  We were pretty nervous about our first "real" restaurant outing with Emily, but she was a star!!!  We put the bassinet from her stroller up on the booth next to me, and she slept through most of the meal.  Emily did wake up to join us for her own dinner for a bit, but then promptly dozed back off in my arm.  Luckily, I had a nursing cover with me, so I fed her while I ate one-handed, and even impressed the waitress with my multi-tasking abilities!  ;)  I couldn't believe how lucky we got that she was so calm for such a large chunk of time.... we even got dessert!!!  Of course, as is her M.O. these days, she started crying on our walk home, but all in all, it was a successful outing!
