Look at me grow!

Today was my second check-up with my pediatrician and my weight has gone up to 8 pounds, 8.5 ounces -- which means I get an A+ in eating!  Hooray for me!!!  To celebrate the occasion, mommy and daddy took a photo of me on the brand new blanket that my cousins Lauren & Natalie sent me.  Isn't it pretty?  But who are we kidding.... mommy and daddy will use any excuse to take my photo!

  1. she's so adorable!!!! congrats honey! can't wait to hear the birth story! i think in america most people find out the sex but in new zealand it's more common not too. That being said so many people look at me like i'm crazy when i say we don't know!!!! They are like how are you gonna do the room/ buy clothes etc? god how did people survive before scans aye ;) love your little princess! my intuition for myself is girl but i guess we will have to see if thats right or not! hope you get some more sleep soon xoxo

    1. Thank you so much!!! I love that you're a fellow "wait-to-see-the-baby's-sex" mama!!! It really was so exciting to find out when she came out that she was a "she". :)

  2. That's such a sweet picture! I'm glad that she is such a good eater and is so healthy!! Take a million photos....just make sure you get at least a few that will make good blackmail photos for when she's a teenager, haha! (Just kidding! Kind of! Haha!). I'll also be taking tons of photos of my munchkins when they get here, from the cute to the mundane to the messy, I'm sure ;) Enjoy every moment with her!!

Speaking of my li'l ones, here's an update: I was put on strict bed rest yesterday afternoon at 34wks 2days....woohoo! (not!). I think I honestly thought I'd be the person who makes it to 38 weeks, no prob. However, I'm at 2cm right now and lots of contractions ( I thought they were just Braxton Hicks, but apparently not!), so we'll see how it goes....we're at the stage where the babies could hang in there for another couple weeks, or they could come tomorrow. Needless to say, we've learned a lot through our experiences since last July, most importantly, to be flexible and give up control! This twin pregnancy has really tested that (we are still works in progress, lol). I got a steroid shot yesterday to help develop their lungs and will get another one today. I am thankful for an awesome husband who is now having to do pretty much everything for me...just glad I got most of the important things done before now! I want them to bake as long as possible, but I'm also very ready to just have them in my arms, safe and sound! I'll keep ya posted :)

Have a great day with your little family!!

    1. I don't need to be encouraged to take any more photos.... I'm a photo addict! I'm wondering how I'm going to organize and store all of these!!!...

I'm sorry to hear that you're on bed rest! I can imagine that must be really tough. The good news though is that it sounds like your doctors are doing everything they can to ensure that you and your 2 little munchkins stay healthy, which is the most important thing. I know that no mom likes these kinds of "surprises", but unfortunately as we all have learned one way or another -- we can only do so much during pregnancy... a lot of it is completely out of our control. I have a family friend who recently gave birth to twin boys, I believe also at around the 34-35 week mark, and they are totally happy and healthy! Regardless of whether your little ones decide to stay put for a little bit longer, or meet their mama face to face soon, I wish you an uncomplicated, easy birth and 2 healthy babies!!! Please do keep me posted -- I will be thinking of you every day and sending good wishes and prayers your way! xoxo

    1. Thanks, Mel!!! I don't think we get an A+ since we're still trying to figure things out but I think we've definitely earned good grades for effort!! :)
